A cosmetic smile design is a patient led consultation that takes a full assessment of your mouth, while listening to your concerns, wishes, desires and budget. Creating the perfect smile is process of understanding the patient requirements and delivering to their realistic expectation.
After a full assessment, including clinical photographs and any neccesary x-rays, we will take impressions of your teeth to fabricate study models, to which further treatment planning and discussions can be made.

How can a cosmetic smile design improve my smile?
A new smile is designed to look better in many ways. It may straighten crowded or crooked teeth, close gaps, realign protruding teeth, whiten, reduce a gummy smile, widen a narrow smile, change the length or shape of teeth, replace missing teeth or even a combination of all.
How many and what type of veeners would I need to improve my smile?
A cosmetic smile design consultation will assess what treatment options are available to improve your smile. If veeners are the best solution you may require eight to ten in order to improve your entire smile. A smile makeover usually involves at least the top eight or ten teeth and sometimes the lower eight or ten teeth too.
Zirconia full porcelain veeners are the strongest and have the most aesthetic appearance.
What other cosmetic options could improve my smile?
The most common treatment used in a cosmetic smile design are veneers as they are the most conservative restoration and they are strong and highly aesthetic.
However, other treatments such as porcelain crowns, bridges, implants and even implant supported dentures can also be part of a smile makeover depending on the case.
Smile designs can also involve orthodontics using Invisalign to either pre-align teeth prior to multiple porcelain veneers or to align minor crowding of the lower teeth when only the upper teeth are to be veneered. If upper teeth only are being treated with veneers then the lower teeth are usually at least whitened.
Will I be able to see what my teeth will look like before I proceed with treatment?
Because we take clinical photographs and impression, we can show some digital versions of the what your teeth will look like.
When choosing veneers, we will prepare the teeth and place temporary veneers. At your next appointment will then be able to try in the selected shape, size and colour veneers and make any changes before we proceed to fabricating and fitting your final porcelain veneers.
Are there any risks?
As with any treatments there are always risks. Each treatment is planned carefully to minimise any risks, but these will be discussed with you at your consultation appointment as each individual treatment is different for every patient.
