Thai Yoga Massage
Thai yoga massage is a system of massage developed in Thailand and influenced by the traditional medicine systems of India, China and Southeast Asia, as well as by yoga.
It is a holistic therapy where the human being is seen and treated as an ever changing network of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects that all influence each other. Its primary aim is to restore and balance the body’s energy system. By freeing the flow of vital energy in the body, Thai massage can improve posture, breathing, flexibility, digestion and circulation as well as reducing emotional and nervous tension.
Thai yoga massage is done on a mat on the floor with the client dressed in light clothes. The practitioner uses her/her thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet to apply a combination of acupressure, gentle rocking and twisting, joint mobilisations and assisted yoga stretches.
Manuela Stanciu, our Physiotherapist, who is qualified in Thai Yoga Massage, provides this treatment on Monday and Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.
