Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register as a new dental patient?
You can call the clinic and speak to one of our friendly members of staff who will be happy to book a registration appointment where you will be seen for an initial dental examination.
What should I expect from an initial examination appointment?
Firstly you will greeted by one of our friendly members of staff, where you will then be seated in a relaxed comfortable waiting room. You will be required to complete a confidential new medical history form including any current medication. An additional form will also be given to list any current concerns, wishes or requirements.
Once this is completed and your dentist is ready to see you, one of our dental nurses will come to collect you.
You will be introduced to your dentist and given time to feel comfortable. Your dentist will go through a thorough and comprehensive assessment of your mouth, detailing this onto our computerised dental software. We may also take clinical photographs to record the current condition of your mouth, so we may refer back to in the future. Appropriate digital x-rays will be taken if necessary.
After completing a full and detailed evaluation of your mouth, any finding will be explained to you. Giving you the opportunity to ask questions and fully understand.
Should treatment or hygienist services be required, a full breakdown of any costs, risks, complications and benefits will be given.
You dentist will advise you of recall appointment for another examination inline with your current oral health and current best practice guidelines.
Can I have a second opinion appointment rather than registering as a new patient?
Our dental team will allways be happy to discuss the needs of new and current patients.
We offer dental appointments to discuss specific concerns and consultations to provide patient information.
These appointments do not include a full comprehenseive examination or x-rays, unless specified by the patient.
I'm not happy with my smile, can I have veneers?
We would always advise patients looking to improve their smile, to book a smile design consultation appointment.
On this appointment we will be able to listen to your concerns, wishes and desires, in order to manage your expectations and give you all the options available.
Should I see the hygienist?
At Zen Clinic we believe that dental health is all about maintenance and prevention.
Seeing a hygienist on a regular basis as well as having a dental examination can prevent future treatment being required and causes of gum diseases and loss of teeth.
Why not talk to one of our team about Zen Dental Plans.
